Today, we’re showing you what happens when Milwaukee engagement photographers take pictures for other Milwaukee engagement photographers. To sum it up briefly? Magic.
Our friend Kayla is an engagement and wedding photographer at Emerald Tide Photography. She’s gorgeous, her work is gorgeous, her (newly married) husband is gorgeous, and their house? You probably get where this is going.
Being asked to take engagement pictures for someone who knows what they’re doing behind a camera is such an honor, because we know it can be hard to fully trust someone else in the same industry as you. And, as the people that are typically behind the camera, being in front of it is whole new experience. We’re so grateful to have been trusted by K+A not only for our craft, but ability to make them feel like they could be their true selves.
Kayla and Andy had never had their pictures taken together before, in all of the years they’ve been together. They chose their Milwaukee home as the spot to have their engagement pictures taken, which is one of our most highly recommended locations for engagement photos: especially for introverts or a couple who has never been photographed professionally. Being in your own home is comfortable and such an easy way to incorporate your personal style.
Milwaukee engagement photographers are spoiled with so many downtown homes loaded with character. Kayla and Andy’s 1920’s craftsman is decorated beautifully, perfectly complimenting the home’s original accents. As old house lovers ourselves, walking through K+A’s home was a dream – the four of us oohed and awed over the built-ins and nooks and crannies that provided what felt like endless photo opportunities. Kayla’s vision for her session was to incorporate a vintage, retro feel, and we don’t think it could have been any more perfect.
