Why Your Home is the Best Place for Engagement Photos

One of the first questions couples ask when planning their engagement session is if we have location recommendations.

Your home is a perfect place for engagement photos, but we’ve got way more up our sleeves than that. Of course we have suggestions for you! That’s part of our job. Your job is to be present and in love. We’ll help you with everything from deciding what to wear to choosing the perfect spot, and our favorite way to pick a location is to figure out where you’ve built memories together. From parks to coffee shops, meaningful locations will make a lasting impact on the emotions your engagement photos spark. Read on to hear more about why your home is our all-time favorite place to photograph your love!

You style is instantly incorporated in your at home engagement photos.

Whether you’ve got a mismatched-boho vibe or a minimalist modern look going on, the decor in your home is a great way to include your personal style in your photos. Don’t worry if your home isn’t 100% decorated. We only need a small space to get sweet pictures with a personalized touch.

Pets can be included when your engagement photos are at home.

I know you take a hundred pictures of your cat a day. You probably post more photos of your dogs than you post of yourself. When your furry fam is so important to you, why leave them out of your engagement photos? Most dogs can tag along to an outdoor session. Unfortunately, that’s not exactly an option for your cats (unless you have a cat harness and an adventure-loving cat). While we’re in the safety of your home, we can snag some photos of you and your pets without any distracting leashes getting in the way.

Weather won’t get in the way.

Wisconsin weather is obnoxiously unpredictable. Rain in January? Of course. Snow in May? Why not. Not only will you be protected from the elements while indoors, you also have full control of the temperature in your home. I don’t know about you, but I get sweaty when I’m anxious. It’s always nice to be able to turn the thermostat up or down depending on how you’re feeling, which is a total luxury that you won’t get when we sneak outside for the last bit of your engagement session.

It’s unique to you.

Nobody else will have their engagement photos taken in your home! If you’ve lived in your home together for some time, you’ve probably created some really meaningful memories under that roof. When you decide to have engagement photos in a place that you’ve spent a lot of time, you’ll be reminded of the memories you’ve created there whenever you see your engagement pictures.

When in doubt, choose your home for engagement photos.

We can always take a hop over to a nearby park or city street half-way through to get a touch of the outdoors in your gallery, but keep your home on the location list. The memories, the pets, and that gorgeous window lighting will not disappoint. Let’s set something up.
