Chelsea and Kevin share such special love, it made is so easy to make an upbeat wedding video for their day. The way they met might be unexpected, but it makes for an incredible story that is bound to make anyone who hears it smile.
Craigslist isn’t the typical dating site. For most, they choose Bumble or Tindr or, well, any app meant for finding a connection with another and not for buying secondhand dressers. When Kevin’s mom pulled up Craigslist one fateful day, she wasn’t looking for a dresser or for a future wife for Kevin. She was simply looking for a place for him to live. It was time he get out of the nest.
As fate would have it, Kevin’s new roommate would be Chelsea and she wouldn’t be just some random roommate for long. She’d end up being “the one.” Kevin and Chelsea’s huge group of friends and family gave charming toasts on their wedding day explaining how they went from strangers to best friends and now husband and wife, and they did it while keeping the whole crowd smiling. Keeping an audience engaged as well as these folks did takes personality – a trait that Kevin and Chelsea must attract, because the entire room was vivacious for an easy eight hours.
That upbeat personality shined in so many ways on Kevin and Chelsea’s unique and playful wedding day. A favorite moment of ours was when the two joining their wedding party during their ceremony to give the crowd a live performance of a Rolling Stones song, but that wasn’t the only element that made their wedding memorable.
Chelsea is a florist and made all of the floral arrangements, including her own bouquet and pressed flower table numbers. (She also preserves bouquets, so if you want to save yours from your wedding, check out her work!) Kevin and his mom full on PERFORMED to Midnight Train to Georgia for their the mother & groom first dance, and Kevin and Chelsea danced to This Must be the Place by Talking Heads. Instead of cutting a cake, they bit into a giant donut cake from Cranky Al’s – only after their grand entrance where they danced to the Seinfeld theme song. (Their wedding party all entered to a different theme song, acting it out along the way!)
This wedding at The Ivy House had so many noteworthy moments that it’s hard to explain them all here. Watch their upbeat wedding video and then open it in YouTube to tell us which was your favorite or how you plan to incorporate (or already incorporated!) things you love into your own wedding day the way they did!
