Last night was an absolutely perfect night for Kristin and Corey’s Port Washington engagement session. You know when the sun is working its way round the clouds, warming up your skin? That’s the weather we got. After almost a year of only having sessions on overcast days (by total accident – It’s a Wisconsin thing, probably.), these two broke the curse. We were all excited to be under the warm golden light.
These two showed up to their engagement session in Port Washington with outfits that wonderfully complemented the surroundings. The cool tones were reminiscent of the Lake Michigan shoreline we had in the background, and the deep burgundy grounded them into the earthy surroundings. Best of all, they looked cozy – and like they felt like themselves. (When choosing outfits for your engagement session, you always want to be comfortable and wear something that suits your style.)
Corey and Kristin are the cutest, and made taking photographs so easy. It’s hard to believe that they were afraid of being awkward in front of the camera when you look through these images! The way they interacted with each other and loved on each other made for great candid moments. They took posing direction like experts, too. It felt like we were working with pros.
Port Washington engagement sessions are always ones for the books. As we joke, Port Washington is like the Door County of the Milwaukee area. Downtown is charming, the trails are beautiful, and of course, it’s got access to the water. When you’re looking for a getaway without actually going anywhere, Port Washington is a nice little spot. We’re so happy we were able to explore this beautiful space with Corey and Kristin. We can’t wait to go back. And we can’t wait for their wedding at the Ivy House next year.
