We got engaged in 2022. Wedding planning was a bit easier for us than it is for most people since we already work in the industry and know so many incredible vendors.
Wanderlynn Photography has been a team we’ve admired for a while, and we knew we wanted to have them involved in our wedding journey. It was a dream to work with them on our engagement session!
When Joe and I planned the vibes for our engagement session, we knew we wanted it to be like a “mini wedding.” We had talked about eloping, but decided against it so we could share the big day with our closest family and friends. But we still wanted those city elopement vibes. So, that’s what we did for our engagement pictures.
I wore a white minidress with puffy sleeves from Revolve, along with a short veil and white heels. Joe wore dark brown ankle pants with a tan button-up and brown loafers. Unordinary Omen Floristry made us a stunning bouquet with deep reds, creams, peaches, and a touch of light blue. The flowers were perfect for the vibes of Cactus Club, the location we chose for our fake-elopement date.
We wanted to make the session feel as customized and personal to us as possible. Vintage retro is totally our style, and while Cactus Club brought that feeling through their decor, we wanted to make the session feel as customized and personal to us as possible. We brought a stack of Life magazines, records, our Canon film camera, our vintage 1971 polaroid camera, two of our favorite vintage glasses to drink from, and a bottle of whiskey. (And, thank goodness for the whiskey because my nerves needed to be calmed down.)
Our indoor location was a dream, but we also wanted to spend some time outside for the city vibes. Wanderlynn Photography suggested Kinnikinic in Bayview and it matched our vision perfectly!
We’re eternally grateful for the skill and talent of Wanderlynn Photography. Having gotten to live out our elopement-vibe dreams with them was *chef’s kiss.*
Cheers to talented friendors. <3
