About the Ivy House
If you haven’t been to the Ivy House in Milwaukee for a wedding, you should know that is an absolutely stunning venue. It’s an event space with style and character (including being one of Milwaukee’s wedding venues with the classic cream city brick!), yet each wedding we’ve attended there has felt totally different than the last.
With a dazzling outdoor area and an interior that’s just as beautiful, couples have two spaces to choose from for their ceremony setup. Luscious greens on the outside of the Ivy House paired with twinkling patio lights make the outdoor patio feel like a vacation. That’s probably why they call their outside bar “Fernweh” (it’s a German word similar to “wanderlust”).
Inside, you’ll find the same great greenery. It’s hanging from the indoor bar, and there’s an entire wall dedicated to plants. It’s like the convenience of of a wedding venue but with the vibes of getting married in a greenhouse. (If you’re looking for those vibes in the Madison area, you should check out The Tinsmith, too!)
The cherry on top of the cake at the Ivy House? The getting-ready suite located on the second floor of the building. The space is huge. It includes a spacious sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, and separate dressing room. There is plenty of room for you and your wedding party to get ready without having to leave the venue – it’s truly every couple’s dream.

Kristin and Corey’s Milwaukee Winter Wedding
This December wedding we photographed for Corey and Kristin made great use of the indoor space, but it didn’t stop us from venturing out into the cold for some portraits.
Kristin and Corey met at Concorida University after a professor introduced them to each other. It’s one of those moments of fate that you just have to look back on and think about all of the little things that led you to that person, and for Corey and Kristin, it was surely meant to be. They put together a great event surrounded by their family and friends– an entire group of people who clearly couldn’t be happier for them.
From saying “I do” at the college they met at, to their love-filled reception at The Ivy House, there was not a single piece of Corey and Kristin’s wedding that was anything less than incredible. Even on the one day of their entire lives that was most about the two of them, both of them were so thoughtful of everyone else. A marriage like that is sure to be beautiful. We were so grateful to also be able to photograph their vow renewal on their first anniversary.
