Lexie and Dalton have been our photography clients for a long time. Last year, they chose to postpone their wedding another year so that they could party worry-free, and we’re so excited to finally get to celebrate with them this October at Monarch Valley Weddings & Events. Their official engagement session was in the fall of 2019 – but we couldn’t go two years without seeing these two! We met up at a greenhouse in West Bend for engagement session round 2 earlier this spring.
A greenhouse was a natural setting for Lexie and Dalton (Lexie’s idea!). They each have their own plants at home, which Lexie says is so Dalton can’t kill hers. Would they have left this greenhouse photo session with more plants? Sure. But they’re out of space for plant friends.
The moral of the story is that you’re happiest in your happy place. You should absolutely have your engagement session at a location that makes you smile, feel comfortable, and be effortlessly yourself. Maybe that’s a greenhouse, or maybe it’s in your home. If you’re beach people, that’s where we want to go with you. Antique stores, the local Taco Bell, a favorite picnic spot – the ideas are truly endless. When you’re trying to decide on a location for your engagement session, walk yourself through a typical day in the life of you and your partner. If the spot you have in mind is someplace you honestly like to be, that’s the one.
