Summer: Rosemary’s contagious laugh, Ravi’s sense of calm, golden light glowing both of through their hair as they kiss. As we walked along the water in Fond du Lac during their engagement session, Rosemary and Ravi’s relationship felt like the love story people write books about. A summer romance, but like the forever kind – the kind that turns into a marriage.
This scene was different from the one we experienced just a few days prior, but their love for each other was just the same. Earlier in the week, the skies weren’t so sunny. We knew we had an 8% chance of rain. Screw it, what’s an 8% chance, anyway? The risk seemed so small, so together, we hiked up to a scenic spot for summer engagement photos. During the climb, the thunder started, and by the time we were halfway there, the 92% chance of summer sunshine turned into a total downpour. Good thing we brought the umbrellas.
It’s hard to be mad at an engagement session being cut short when it only meant spending another day with Rosemary and Ravi. We took pictures of them twice that week. We only have Wisconsin summers to thank for that pleasure.
