At first sight, Becka knew Kayla was going to play an important role in her life. While they were both working at a daycare, Becka was immediately drawn to Kayla’s curly hair and signature flannel. Little did Becka know that Kayla was feeling the same way. They continued to work together, interacting a bit here and there, until Kayla finally got the nerve to see if the feeling was mutual.
“Hey Miss Becka, do you want some candy?”
“Sure,” Becka replied, completely unaware of how this moment was about to change her life.
“Do you want a skittle? Or a kiss?”
Becka smirked. “A kiss.”
Kayla tossed her the kiss, and for the next couple of days, was feeling too shy to even make eye contact with the woman who would later become her wife. Nervousness aside, it was the confirmation they both needed that it was time to take their work friendship to the next steps.
Becka and Kayla now have the sweetest, most emotional love for each other. On their wedding day, while the two were getting ready separately, Kayla was overcome with pre-wedding nerves. The one person that could help her find calmness was Becka. Kayla went over to the suite where Becka was having her hair done just to hear her voice – when Kayla told her she could come hold her hand with her eyes closed, Becka’s eyes lit up and filled with tears.
That’s the love that all started with a little candy kiss.
