The George and Madcap Lounge is Milwaukee’s newest wedding venue, located downtown in Walker’s Point. If you’ve been there, you know that the east side of the city is filled with life and character. The George, a historical building converted into a wedding venue, is no exception. Its design is elegant and screams luxury without feeling too traditional, thanks to artistic retro touches. You’ll find unique wallpaper everywhere you look with artwork and trinkets forming a vintage eclectic vibe. (That artwork is even locally sourced in Wisconsin!)
Is The George a Good Wedding Venue?
We’ve shared our checklist of 5 things to look for in a wedding venue, and The George has it all. Beautiful windows and lighting? Check. A great getting ready space? You got it. Tons of style and vignettes galore? Couldn’t have asked for better. This space is clearly a dream for any couple getting married here – and it’s a photographer’s dream, too.
The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests at The George and there is a capacity of 175 in the MadCap Lounge. For those planning a smaller wedding, the floorplan is perfect for creating cozy sections that will feel intimate for a select guest list. If you’ve got the whole space for the day, have your ceremony in the window-lit ballroom (formally The George) under crystal chandeliers and velvet curtains. Then, head down to the MadCap Lounge for cocktail hour, hors d’oeuvres, and a game of pool. Finish out your reception upstairs or down – either way, it’s sure to be an unforgettable party.
