There is just something about Rae and Michael’s Madison engagement photos that makes us feel some type of way.
When these two asked us to be their wedding photographers, we think we literally jumped with joy. Yes, becoming a part of someone’s big day is always exciting, but this is EXTRA exciting. Rae was my freshman-year RA and Michael is a friend from that first year of college.
Wild, right?! As an 18-year-old, I never imagined the possibility that one day I’d be photographing Rae and Michael’s wedding:
- I was planning on moving to New York to live out my dream of designing wedding dresses. During my freshman year of college, I was an Apparel Design major (coincidentally, so was Rae. Now she’s a scientist!). Becoming a photographer wasn’t even on my radar.
- When I was a freshman, RAs scared the bonkers out of me. (Turns out Rae is awesome and RAs are humans, too.)
- Rae and Michael weren’t a couple in 2013. My memory is failing me on exactly how they met, but I do remember the day Michael said, “Is that your RA? I want to go on a date with her!”
So, here we are. R + M are engaged, and we’re photographers. We couldn’t be more grateful for how life turned out.
We absolutely loved capturing their engagement pictures in Madison Wisconsin, especially because it meant catching up with old friends. The four of us took full advantage of Capitol Square for their photos and explored some beautiful parks, while we were at it.
